Slow Cooker Green Chile Chicken

Wholesome version of chicken chile made in a slow cooker! Slow cooker green chile chicken is hearty with tomatillos and a hint of spice. Serve over brown rice and garnish with chopped cilantro, pico de gallo, avocado, and cheese, or wrap in a tortilla!









Ingredients .

bunch fresh cilantro, stems removed

1 ½ pounds boneless chicken thighs

4 cups water

1 onion, quartered

2 cloves garlic, peeled

1 tablespoon ground cumin

1 tablespoon chili powder

1 tablespoon ground black pepper

1 teaspoon Salt .





Green chile sausa

1 pound of fresh tomatoes, husk removed, halved.

* Jalpino pepper, seeds and minced

1 tablespoon canola oil

1 (4 ounce) chopped green chillies

2 tablespoons white vinegar

1 tablespoon crushed cumin

1 tablespoon chili powder

1 tablespoon honey

1 tablespoon ground black pepper

2 teaspoons kosher salt

1 cup of great northern beans, grated and removed

Step1
Remove Stumps from Calantro & T Togthar; Sow Lewis for Sauce.

Step 2

Place the cilantro stalks, chicken thighs, water, onion and garlic in a slow cooker. Season with 1 tablespoon cumin, 1 tablespoon chili powder, 1 tablespoon black pepper and 1 teaspoon salt.








Step 3

Cook over low heat until the chicken centers are pink and the juice is clear, 8 to 10 hours. Transfer the chicken to a plate and slice using 2 forks. Sit on one side. Save 1 to 1 1/2 cups of cooking liquid. Allow onion and garlic to cool slightly, about 5 minutes. Dice and set aside.





Step 4

Preheat oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees Celsius). Sprinkle baking sheet with cooking spray.

Step 5

Place the tomato cut side down and the jalapeno on the prepared baking sheet. Drizzle with canola oil.





Step 6

Roast in preheated oven for 25 minutes.

Step 7

Remove from the oven and wrap the jalapeno peppers in aluminum foil to allow the 'sweat' to come out for about 10 minutes. Remove the skin from the jalpino.






Step 8

Transfer the tomato, jalapeno, preserved red pepper leaves, green pepper, vinegar, cumin, chili powder, honey, pepper, and salt to a food processor or blender. Mix the sauce until well combined.






Step 9

Put the tomato sauce in a large bowl and add the chopped chicken, chopped onion and garlic and beans. Add safe cooking liquid. Cook over medium heat for 15 minutes. Serve
